David Simkin joins Plaza Bank in Irvine as Senior Vice President. Simkin comes to Plaza Bank from California Bank & Trust, which he joined in 2001 as a vice president, chiefly assisting businesses with revenues in the $100 million range. He began his banking career in 1984 as a corporate loan officer with Mitsui Manufacturers Bank. Simkin was a vice president and branch manager with Marine National Bank in Irvine from 1987 to 1999, when he joined Eldorado Bank. At Eldorado Bank he was regional vice president in the Newport/Irvine office, coordinating commercial lending activities with six branch managers. Simkin earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from UCI where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1984 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He completed the course work of the certified financial planner and also graduated from the Western Banking School in 2001. His civic and community involvement includes leadership activities with Vanguard University and the Exchange Club of Irvine. He resides in Aliso Viejo.
