Stephen Huelsman has joined Plaza Bank as Vice President and Commercial Banking Officer. Mr. Huelsman’s first position was with the Business Council Credit Union in Tustin, Calif., as a Loan Processor where he also underwrote personal loan requests and trained new employees in personal tax return analysis. In 1996, he joined Southern California Bank as a Loan Processor and also became the leading Business Development Officer in the bank’s La Habra office. In 1997, Mr. Huelsman took the post of Senior New Accounts Supervisor and Consumer Loan Officer at BYL Bank Group in Yorba Linda, where he also assisted in creating and marketing new products. In 1999, he joined California Bank & Trust as Commercial Banking Officer where he underwrote and recommended commercial loans to individual bank managers and credit committees. Mr. Huelsman came to Plaza Bank from PFF Bank & Trust in Rancho Cucamonga, which he joined in 2005 as Regional Commercial Credit Sales Director. His responsibilities included staff training, development of marketing materials and incentive plans. He also reported to senior management on pending and current loan production, budget and the competitive banking environment. His commitment to the community includes service as a Junior Achievement instructor of general business education to at-risk youths at the high school level. His professional activities include service as a member of the Californian Credit Union League’s Board of Governors. Also, Mr. Huelsman has held several prominent roles with the Young Professional Committee of the Risk Management Association both in Orange County and nationally.
